Rude!

What You Should Never Do in Other Countries
(Just in case if you're planning a trip abroad... If not, don't bother okay? Hehe...)

Hi there folks!

Here, i just want to share several rules that i have come a crossed in The World's Best Loved Magazine or also known as a Reader's Digest in which a rules to avoid offending the locals.

1) Don't smile at strangers in Russia
They'll see it as an intimate gesture, indicating a genuine affinity toward another person. If you don't know them, they might consider you insincere. (Well, it sounded bizarre right? But then, it does make sense too if someone you barely know just smile at you especially if it's a smirk kind of smile... Ugh!).

2) Don't use your left hand in India
The left hand is thought of as unclean in Indian culture, so always use your right hand to greet someone, exchange money, or pick up merchandise. (This is very common i guess, especially here in Malaysia. Being Asian, we did practice this in our daily life so nothing to ponder about. But... for left-handed, it's indeed something to ponder here! No offence...)

3) Don't wave your chopsticks around in China
It's like drumming with your knife and fork. (This is probably acceptable since yeah, who is in their right mind would wave a knife freely. Unless there's my enemy around and I'd love to... *a bit of a laugh*)

4) Don't forget to say hello in France
'"Bonjour madame monsieur" should be the first words out of your mouth, otherwise you're subtly showing you feel the person is beneath you. (Such a small remarks or gestures do matter here, apparently.)

That's it for this entry...

Till then!

It's Never Too Late

Again, Hi there anyone...?

So, basically this once in a year craze come again which obviously as you can read what i have inserted above is a book fair latest craze. Yeah... I'm talking about The Big Bad Wolf  Book Sale here. I know perhaps it's quite late for me to update about this thing but then again, who gives a toss anyway? *coughing*

At first, I thought that I can't stand a chance to go to this BBW to treat myself some books as for the last entry I did said that I misses not having enough book to read. And then I came to realized that I was wrong on both counts, literally because I managed to be there eventually even it's too little too late and for sure the credit goes to the BBW itself since this book fair was extended to another 5 days or so... (It's a yeayyy for me huh?)

And this is it... to an avid reader who loves to curl up with a good books in hand (me included). This would the best place for you to browse your favourite books and whatnot. Even i didn't managed to browse for the book that I desired, but still it's worth the aching legs for having to stand for hours strolling around as I did bought some books even it's not really what I'm looking for.

All in all, I'm glad that I could bought some books with an affordable price i would say... Plus, there's something to read or do or whatever to occupy me when I am alone, so I would never feel bored.

Anyways, a thought for this entry is...
Better three hours too soon than a minute too late. - William Shakespeare

An avid reader

"Destiny" is the force which some people believe controls the things that happen to you in your life.
So, this is one of the book that I particularly engaged on, not too long ago...!

A person's destiny is everything that happens to them during their life, including what will happen in the future, especially when it is considered to be controlled by something. Having said that, the first book by Louise Bagshawe I read was a Destiny. I started read it when I was 18 years old. It was over 376 pages and if I could recall, I read it in only three days... ( ha-ha! I was only kidding, can't really recall actually) *smirked*... This book is about the main character, an orphan Kate Fox, whose mother instilled in her that it was important to marry a rich man who could provide for her, and that beauty was a tool to get the security she wanted. This advice stays with Kate, as she navigates her way through the rich men of New York.

The main character Kate does indeed make good, but her success comes at a price. Full of glamour and drama, the book follows Kate's journey from the point where she was orphaned at age 16 into her 30's.
The heroine worked for me, I would say as she was sassy, determined and used everything she had to get ahead in life. Not to mention her courage was inspiring and I felt her pain. Although the story is a little predictable at times, and Kate can be a little too perfect. All in all it's enjoyable and worth the read.... (Just in case you're wondering). *grin*

P/S: I misses not having enough books currently....

Till then...!
