An avid reader

"Destiny" is the force which some people believe controls the things that happen to you in your life.
So, this is one of the book that I particularly engaged on, not too long ago...!

A person's destiny is everything that happens to them during their life, including what will happen in the future, especially when it is considered to be controlled by something. Having said that, the first book by Louise Bagshawe I read was a Destiny. I started read it when I was 18 years old. It was over 376 pages and if I could recall, I read it in only three days... ( ha-ha! I was only kidding, can't really recall actually) *smirked*... This book is about the main character, an orphan Kate Fox, whose mother instilled in her that it was important to marry a rich man who could provide for her, and that beauty was a tool to get the security she wanted. This advice stays with Kate, as she navigates her way through the rich men of New York.

The main character Kate does indeed make good, but her success comes at a price. Full of glamour and drama, the book follows Kate's journey from the point where she was orphaned at age 16 into her 30's.
The heroine worked for me, I would say as she was sassy, determined and used everything she had to get ahead in life. Not to mention her courage was inspiring and I felt her pain. Although the story is a little predictable at times, and Kate can be a little too perfect. All in all it's enjoyable and worth the read.... (Just in case you're wondering). *grin*

P/S: I misses not having enough books currently....

Till then...!
